Thomas Concrete joined WSB-TV and Brock Built at their project kickoff “Going Green – The Green House.” This environmentally conscious home was constructed at West Highlands Community located at 1536 Craftsman Road, Atlanta, GA 30318.
Thomas Concrete was one of the suppliers donating their time and services to build this earth-friendly home, which was built to EarthCraft House™ standards. The Green House will showcase new “green standards” that are achieveable for the average family. WSB-TV followed the entire building process which culminate in a one hour Prime Time Special on September 17th 8 - 9pm telling the story of the innovate partnership and the remarkable transformation of the West Highlands Community. The home is open for tours to the public Wednesday and Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturday 11am - 5pm.
The finished home will be sold to the highest bidder on October 3rd and proceeds will be donated to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Although this is an important donation to a great cause, the real gift is a look into the future green building standards that could help to make our world more energy efficient and environmentally friendly. All eyes are on the Green House and this exciting Atlanta project are grateful to be part of significant and meaningful venture.
